KURT ZINN

ABOUT

Kurt R. Zinn is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. His research focuses on molecular imaging for cancer diagnosis and therapy, and neuroimaging of drug delivery to the brain.

Dr. Zinn holds a D.V.M. in veterinary medicine, an M.S. in chemistry, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry, all from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to joining MSU, Dr. Zinn held several roles at University of Alabama including professor of radiology, director of UAB’s Laboratory of Multimodality Imaging and Small Animal Imaging Shared Facility, director of Radiology’s Division of Advanced Medical Imaging Research, and vice-chair of Translational research.

RESEARCH

Dr. Zinn received the Distinguished Investigator Award from the Academy of Radiology Research in 2015. His research includes the development of molecular imaging approaches for cancer diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and therapy. Dr. Zinn has contributed significantly to more than ten phase I clinical trials.
