KEFEI YU

ABOUT

Kefei Yu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. His research focuses on DNA recombination and DNA repair in immune cells in association with antigen receptor gene diversification.

Dr. Yu received his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Immunology from the University of Southern California. After graduating, he worked as a Research Associate at the Norris Cancer Center, University of Southern California.

RESEARCH

The Yu Lab investigates the targeting mechanism and regulation of activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID); the mechanism of generating DNA breaks at switch regions during B cells class switch recombination; and the repair of switch region DNA breaks and their involvement in oncogenic translocations.
