ABOUT
Matthew Bernard is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology and is also a member of the In Vivo Facility. Dr. Bernard supports custom model development for toxicological endpoints for both industry and academic partners.
Dr. Bernard received his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Rochester and completed his postdoctoral training at LaJolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology. Prior to joining MSU, he was a Senior Research Investigator at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he conducted investigative toxicology research for small molecules and biologics.
RESEARCH
Dr. Bernard has extensive knowledge in designing and conducting applied research studies in immunopharmacology and immunotoxicology in a GLP environment. He specializes in immunoassay development, validation, and implementation for in vitro and in vivo pharmacology and toxicology studies, and has over a decade of flow cytometry experience.
