JIANRONG WANG

ABOUT

Jianrong Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering. His research focuses on developing novel statistical models and machine learning algorithms to infer large-scale context-dependent gene regulatory networks and their association with complex human disease, including cancer.

Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He completed his postdoctoral training at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Broad Institute, and Stanford University.

RESEARCH

Jianrong Wang’s interdisciplinary research is in the fields of bioinformatics, machine learning, gene regulation, and systems biology, with a focus on developing novel statistical models and machine learning algorithms to infer large-scale context-dependent gene regulatory networks and their association with complex human disease (e.g. cancer) by integrating heterogeneous high-dimensional datasets. The Wang Lab collaborates with experimental experts in cancer research, neurogenomics, genetics, and proteomics.
