ABOUT
Gustavo de los Campos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He leads a team that develops statistical methods and software for analysis and prediction of complex traits and diseases.
Dr. de los Campos received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin.
RESEARCH
Our group is interested in the analysis and prediction of complex traits and diseases using genetic (integrating pedigrees, genomics, and other omics) and environmental information. Our research involves methods, software development, and applications in human health, plant and animal breeding. The lab is currently working on using these methods for prediction of breast cancer outcomes. In collaboration with Dr. Ana Vazquez, Dr. de los Campos leads the MSU QuantGen group, who work to develop methods and software for the genetic analysis of “big data” in human health, plant and animal breeding.
