Research
Wang's lab focuses on understanding mechanisms of immunosuppression in papillomavirus-induced cancers and other cancer types. Using mouse papillomavirus as a model to study how papillomavirus evades immune clearance to establish persistent infection by modulating host factors and tumor microenvironment. WAng's current project focuses on tumor cell and macrophage interactions and how the modulation of macrophages by tumor cells affect T cell infiltration and efficacy of immune check point blockade treatment in mouse papillomavirus infected tissues and head and neck cancer models. This research will shed light in discovering new targets to improve efficacy of immunotherapy for cancers.
