Dohun Pyeon is an MSU Research Foundation Distinguished Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Genetics, and Immunology. His research focuses on HPV-associated cancers, including the investigation of virus-driven immune evasion and metastasis.
Dr. Pyeon received his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining MSU, he held an appointment at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
Dr. Pyeon’s research focuses on the molecular mechanisms by which Human Papillomavirus (HPV) drives cancer development and evades the host immune system, with a primary focus on Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC). By integrating functional genomics, single-cell analysis, human patient samples, and animal models, we aim to identify novel therapeutic targets that can reverse immune evasion and improve the effectiveness of current immunotherapies.
