Jae-Wook Jeong is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology. His research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating normal physiology and disease development in the uterus.
Dr. Jeong earned his Ph.D. from Korea University, South Korea and completed his postdoctoral training in reproductive biology at Baylor College of Medicine.
The Jeong Lab investigates major regulators of the ovarian steroids, progesterone and estrogen. This group has developed and applied several genetically engineered mouse models, as well as translational studies, to understand the factors that regulate uterine epithelial-stroma crosstalk in controlling uterine epithelial cell proliferation and receptivity for embryo attachment. Dr. Jeong’s research works toward applying these genetic model systems to further study the role of steroid hormones in women’s health, with the goal of developing effective therapies for reproductive disorders and cancers.
